Integrated Counseling and Mediation Services (ICMS) is focused on providing a safe and welcoming environment. Our specializations lie in trauma, mood disorders, depression and anxiety, interpersonal relationship conflict, court mandated treatment including substance abuse services and assessments. We service ages 5 and up in English, Spanish and Greek, and are LGBTQ+ friendly.

About Mirta Martinez, LCSW, Hx

Clinical Psychotherapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist,
Executive Director and Qualified Supervisor

Mirta speaks three languages – English, Spanish, and Greek. Raised in Greece, lived in New York for several years then relocated to Florida in 2013. She has been in the field for over 20 years in various capacities. Author of ‘Phoenix Rising’ published in 2022, a book born amid the COVID pandemic and inspired by the rising need to address trauma, an area which she specializes in. She also is a certified Divorce Mediator, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Gottman level I practitioner. Multifaceted treatment approaches include CBT, DBT, Trauma Focused CBT, Play Therapy, Anger Management, Behavioral Modification and many other evidence-based treatment approaches. Services provided include but are not limited to court ordered or recommended mental health assessments, divorce mediating, individual, family and couples counseling. Services are provided in both English and Spanish. Mirta specializes in working with trauma, depression, anxiety, and LGBTQ+ related issues.

Jenifer H. is a compassionate individual from Lakeland, FL, with a mission to guide others towards success and healing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from the University of South Florida. As a versatile professional, she has worked as a dependency case manager, history middle school teacher, and mental health counselor. She supports individuals of all ages with issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, and much more. Her non-judgmental and personable approach fosters strong connections with clients, creating a safe space for personal growth and well-being. She is dedicated to helping you thrive on your journey to a brighter future.

Our Interns

Raven F. is a Florida native and has lived in the Tampa area for about 6 years. She has primarily been a music educator but has recently made the shift into the world of therapy. After going on her own journey of self-discovery, Raven decided she wanted to help others in a different way. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at the University of South Florida. Raven has a special interest in neurodivergence, the LGBTQ+ community, and social justice issues. You will love working with her with her warm, welcoming approach. She looks forward to working with you soon.

Emily J. is a German American raised in Central Florida. She currently lives in St. Petersburg while completing a Master of Social Work at the University of South Florida. Her previous career was as a middle grades English instructor in Hillsborough County Public Schools. Emily is passionate about using evidence-based practices to help clients experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and self-esteem issues develop insight and take action to build a life that holds value to them. Emily enjoys working with clients of all ages, but takes a special interest in working with young adults. Treatment modalities of special interest to her are Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) practices and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Emily believes that strong rapport and therapeutic alliance is essential to effective therapeutic relationships, and takes a warm, validating, and non-judgmental approach to her work with clients.

Emily S. is a Masters student in the University of South Florida’s social work program who was born in the Tampa Bay area. She received an Undergraduate research assistantship from University of Florida’s College of Behavioral and Community Sciences and is currently working to complete research regarding sexual abuse prevalence in under researched populations. She is extremely determined in working towards obtaining a PhD in social work in the near future, hoping to research the social work implications of trauma in various under researched populations. During her time at USF she has been involved as an elected officer of USF’s Social Work Society as their treasurer and social media coordinator, building connections to develop resources and initiatives for students. She has also organized various fundraisers and donation drives for youth who are unhoused in her community. Her empathetic and understanding approach along with her passion for connecting with others highlights that she sees the value in building a strong rapport and trusting relationship with clients of all ages. She enjoys working with clients of all backgrounds and ages, but has special interest in working with youth, the LGBTQ+ community and trauma survivors. .
